EXPERIMENTAL

A Blinking Existence (2021)
Experimental Short Film

Logline: A door appears in darkness as your final distorted visions blink before you.

This is an experimental short I made using footage from an unreleased short I made for a community college filmmaking class in 2016. It was interesting looking back at that old footage after all these years have passed and I've learned so much about filmmaking than I knew then. Looking at all of that footage, I essentially pieced it together into something completely different that I believe is much stronger and comes from a place of greater experience.

We Need Sleep (2018)

Co-Directed/Co-Edited with Beni Kimuene and Bianca Esparza-Burr

Short Experimental Film

Logline: Three film students meet to discuss their final project while experiencing hallucinations induced by sleep deprivation.

For our final project in our experimental film class, me and my friends Beni and Bianca decided to make one big film with three different segments that we would each work on separately. Being college students at finals time, obviously we were all exhausted and fatigued from our class workload going into crunch time, so that general feeling inspired our concept of the differing stages of sleep deprivation. Aside from working on it during the most stressful point of the semester, this was probably the most fun I ever had working on a project for class.

In Other News... (2018)

Experimental Short Film

Logline: Sporadic recollections of childhood, distorted by time, tainted by the darkness of the world.

This is an experimental short I cut together using footage from videos I made with my friends in middle school. It was mostly a random assemblage of clips, but it also served as an exercise in making something dark and uncomfortable using only childhood videos.

Earth in Review (2018)

Experimental Short Film

Logline: Incoming transmission from our Alien Overlords: a look at some observations of the planet Earth and a decision on whether to renew or close.

This was my minimalist attempt to create a simulation of an alien transmission using footage shot entirely in my house. It was a learning experience in planning out an experimental concept.

A Silent Rhythm (2018)

Experimental Short Film

An experimental short I cut together using stock footage. I edited the footage to a "rhythm" to give the feel of a visual "song" with no audio.

A Hero's Work (2018)

Music Video

A music video I cut together using footage from the classic Fleischer Superman cartoons set to the Creative Commons song "Slumberland" by the artist Amoebacrew. A big part of what got me into editing was making AMVs as a kid, so this was a fun little video to work on and I'm proud of the final product.

G-Souldier - "Entertainer" (2019)

Produced by Devin Dillon and Matt Margulis

Music Video

Solo Editor

A music video I worked on for the artist Lacey Turner (a.k.a. G-Souldier) for his song "Entertainer". Getting this video made was a very intense process and being on set for it was a very educational experience for live performance/event production.
